Antiquo — effective 16 September 2026
This app does not require an account and does not ask you for personal information. Your collection, scan history, notes, and photos stay on your device. Two kinds of data do leave it: the photos you explicitly choose to identify, which travel through our own service to Google's Gemini model and back, and anonymous diagnostics — crash reports, basic usage statistics, and performance timings — that tell us whether the app is working.
We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, or any account credentials. There is no sign-in. The app contains no advertising and no advertising SDKs, does not build a marketing profile of you, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not sell or share your data with data brokers.
When you tap Identify Antique, or send a photo in Condition Check, the images for that request are sent over an encrypted connection to a Cloud Function we operate on Google Cloud. That function forwards them to the Google Gemini model and returns the result to your device. The images are held in memory for the length of the request and are not written to storage or into logs, so no copy of your photo remains on our service afterwards. This happens only when you start a request — the app never uploads your photo library and never sends photos in the background. Google processes the images under its own terms and privacy policy.
Identifications, scan history, saved collection items, notes, provenance and purchase details, favourites, and your theme choice are stored in private app storage on your device. Photos you scan are kept in the app's own storage folder. Other apps cannot read them. None of it is uploaded to us.
The app uses Google Firebase Crashlytics, Google Analytics for Firebase, and Firebase Performance Monitoring so that we can find out when the app breaks or becomes slow. Crashlytics sends the crash itself — the error, the stack trace, your device model, operating system version, and app version. Analytics records which features are used, for example that a scan finished or an item was saved, together with device type, app version, and coarse region. Performance Monitoring records how long requests take. This data is linked to a randomly generated installation identifier, not to your name or any account, and it is never used for advertising. It contains no photos, no collection contents, and no notes you have written. Diagnostics are disabled in development builds.
Every AI answer has a "Report AI content" action. If you use it, we receive the AI-generated text you are reporting, the category you chose, anything you typed in the optional box, and your app version and platform. We store these reports so a person can review them and so we can improve the model. Your photos are never included in a report, and there is nothing in one that identifies you. Reports are kept only as long as we need them to act on the problem. Sending a report is always your choice — nothing is sent unless you tap send.
Our identification and Condition Check service only answers requests from a genuine, unmodified copy of the app. To prove that, the app uses Firebase App Check, which asks Google Play Integrity (Android) or Apple App Attest (iOS) to attest the app and the device it runs on. This exchanges device-integrity signals with Google, and on iOS with Apple, and protects our AI service from abuse. It does not identify you personally and is not used for advertising.
Camera access is requested only when you choose to take a photo. Photo library access is requested only when you choose to pick an existing image, and on Android 13+ the system photo picker means the app only ever receives the specific images you select. Internet access is used to perform identification and to send diagnostics. The app requests no location, contacts, microphone, phone, or SMS permissions.
Open Profile and tap "Delete all data" to permanently erase your scan history, collection, notes, and stored photos from the device. Uninstalling the app also removes everything stored locally, and resets the random identifier used for diagnostics so later reports cannot be connected to earlier ones. We hold no copy of your collection or photos. If you want the diagnostic records associated with your installation deleted, contact us at the address below.
This app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
The services this app relies on are operated by Google and governed by the Google Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. They are: the Google Gemini model, which analyses photos you submit; Google Cloud Functions, which relays those requests; Firebase App Check with Google Play Integrity, which verifies the app build is genuine; and Firebase Crashlytics, Google Analytics for Firebase, and Firebase Performance Monitoring, which report crashes, usage, and speed. On iOS, App Check also uses Apple App Attest, governed by the Apple Privacy Policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Identifications, era estimates, condition assessments, and value ranges are AI-generated estimates that may be wrong. They are informational only and are not a certified appraisal, an authentication, or professional advice.
